Carmel Villa’s Residents

Since 1986 Carmel Villa has provided a caring and loving environment for the frail elderly who may need considerable assistance with the activities of daily living. This includes people who might be non-ambulatory, experiencing dementia, or receiving Hospice benefits.

Carmel Villa is unique in that it provides people who need special care yet don’t require a skilled nursing facility.

Owner and registered nurse Kathleen Voris (second from left) lives at Carmel Villa. She selects staff based on their professionalism and kindness.

Living at Carmel Villa

Residents at Carmel Villa are encouraged to do for themselves what they safely can. They are assisted with the activities of daily living in a caring, attentive manner.

Every possible opportunity is given to the resident to have a choice in the matter of their care within the guidelines of state regulations, common sense, and a genuine concern for elder care in this country .

Affording an individual’s “choice in the matter” acknowledges their dignity and their humanity.

Activities are primarily important when they provide an individual the experiences of acceptance by others, belonging to a group and recognition of their individuality. An activities program, then, is not only WHAT happens and WHEN it happens, but the MEANING it has for the individual. Again, facilitating an individual’s choice acknowledges their dignity and humanity.

Each resident gets their own bedroom and bathroom with view outside.

When Do You Decide to Have Your Loved One Live At Carmel Villa?

  • The lives of busy and/or distant family members and the escalating needs of the loved one cannot coincide.
